Winner of the First Grand Prize at the Manhattan International Music Competition, with her debut gala concert at Carnegie Hall.
Winner of the First Grand Prize at the Manhattan International Music Competition, soprano Ketevan Gavasheli is celebrated for the brilliance and expressivity of her voice across the operatic and concert repertoire. Her debut gala concert at Carnegie Hall on October 2nd, 2024, marked a milestone in an international career that spans from her native Georgia to major European centers.
Based in Milan, she recently completed a three-year residency as a young artist at the Elena Obraztsova International Academy of Music (2022–2025). She trained at the Tbilisi State Conservatory (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, 2010–2016) and the Renata Tebaldi – Mario del Monaco International Academy in Pesaro, Italy (2016–2017).
Ketevan has built a significant stage career, performing leading roles at the Tbilisi State Opera House and appearing at international festivals. Her repertoire includes Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Gilda (Rigoletto), Musetta (La Bohème), and Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de Perles).
She has performed at the Elena Obraztsova International Festival, January Musical Evenings, and in gala concerts alongside Ildar Abdrazakov and Veronika Dzhioeva. Recent engagements include solo concerts in Miami and Milan.
Awards & Competitions
Ketevan is a laureate of numerous international competitions, including the Stravinsky International Music Competition (1st prize, 2023), the London Classical Music Competition (1st prize, 2022), the International Mozart Competition in Vienna (Silver prize, 2024), and the European Virtuoso Music Awards in Berlin (Silver prize, 2025). She is a scholar of the Opernfest Prague (2025).
Her artistry has been further refined through masterclasses with Ildar Abdrazakov, Alessandro Swab, and Jaroslav Kyzlink.
